Buy 1, Get 3 FREE Premium WordPress Themes

April 2nd, 2009 in News & Updates

Following up on the post about the “4-for-1 April Fool’s offer…” from WooThemes.com on April 1st of 2009 (YES, on April Fool’s day), here are the names of all 4 Themes I chose as my “finalists” 4, and a some overview of what nice “goodies” I found inside the Themes, as well as my experince when tested live on a website and “playing around” with them a bit.

First off, here is a copy and paste of the “Invoice” / receipt email I got right after I finalized the purchase at WooThemes.com :

Thank you for your order. You may find order details below:

Your Invoice Number xxxxx from 04/01/2009

Product/Subscription Title Price
———————————————————–
Busy Bee – Developer License $150.00
WooTube – Developer License $150.00
THiCK – Developer License $150.00
Newsport – Developer License $150.00
———————————————————–
Subtotal $600.00
———————————————————–
Total $150.00

By the way, I paid $150 in total, NOT $600. It shows the full regular price of like if you were buying all four at regular price – that’s the way they have it in their system, but my total charges were $150.

If you are wondering:  Why $150, and not $70 for what 1 Theme actually costs? (Yes, this 4-for-1 ofer was actually available for $70)…

Here’s why:  for $70, you get the Theme(s) in your purchase with a Single User License, while for $150 you get the same Theme(s) you have chosen but with a Developer License.

The Single User License is fine for most people, and it is a fair price for even one of their Premium WordPress Themes – not to mention the 2-for-1 Permanent Offer the now run 365 days a year = $35 a Theme is a good deal for the quality design and CMS functions their Themes come with.

…And of course, the 4-for-1 deal is a”no brainer”.

I could have saved $80, but as a Web Developer and Web Designer, now focusing mostly on WordPress, for my own sites and for my clients as well, I did not want to then regret to have purchased the single license and not being able to freely use any of the Themes multiple times for me or my customers later on. Not that I had specific projects at the moment to fit all these 4 Themes into a site right away (only 1 at the moment), but I saw it very possible because of their nice Themes, and I carefully chose a “variety” with significantly different design, layouts, and features for each Theme.

But hey that’s just me!  I will admit that I am a bit addicted to buying Web Templates (Flash and Swish), and WordPress Themes, and then “throw” about 80% of them into a “corner” of my hard drive and let it get old – often without having a chance to even decompress the zip download file (Yes, I plan on using them but with so much web projects to do, a day goes by too fast and even the 7 days a week I put into my business, and 15 to 20 hours a day – still runs out too fast [sigh!]).

Anyways, that’s me, I like buying a new Website Template or WordPress Theme and play with it, or just know that I got it and it will be ther ready for when I need it – and it gives me some good feeling and excitement. Everyone’s got something wrong, weird, or addicted to, right?  Well, Themes and Templates are now one of the few things I am addicted to, aside from chocolate, ice cream, and pizza (all my life – and I can’t help it), and some other good stuff. LOL :-)

Anyways,

What’s the difference between the licences offered at WooThemes.com? You can visit their site, but if you want to know, this is what they stated at the time I did the purchase:

Single User License ($70 USD):
The Single User License is perfect if you’d only like to use this theme on one your own personal blog or company website. This license entitles you to use the theme on one domain / website, whilst also allowing you to remove any of our credit links within the theme

Developer License ($150 USD):
If you are a developer and would like to use this theme for client projects, then you need this license. This license allows you to use the theme on multiple sites, includes the original Photoshop Source Files, as well as allowing you to remove any of our credit links.

What else they got?
They also offer the “WooThemes Club” Membership, where you pay for 3 months and you actually get full access to All Themes they have in their website during those 3 months!

They have 2 different options and pricing under the WooThemes Club Membership:

  • Single 3 MONTH = $150
  • Developer’s 3 MONTH = $225

In my honest opinion, any of these two memberships are a great choice, as they currently have about 30 Premium Themes in their inventory, and with any of these memberships, you can get all of them.

I will “play” a bit more with the 4 Premium WordPress Themes I just got from WooThemes.com – and then let you know here on new posts coming in a few days, so that I can give out more details of what my experience was.

So come back soon, if you would like a free report of what it looks like from the admin area, features, an analysis of the quality of the use of WordPress codex and PHP, etc. for the following Themes: “Busy Bee“, “WooTube“, “THiCK“, and “Newsport“.
