A few days ago, I had gone by WooThemes.com and had seen a WordPress Themes I rally liked, and thought of maybe using it for a website project I was just launching, but I was already running short of time to build my own custom WordPress Theme (I do, hand-coded), and did not want to keep delaying the project.
So on April 1st of 2009, I went back to WooThemes.com decided that I would buy the Theme, and get my 2nd Theme Free, because of the “Permanent 2-for-1 Offer” / promo the are currently running on their site.
But to my surprise, I saw on their homepage, a link to a post, reading “4-for-1 April Fool’s offer…”, to come to the excitement of that they were actually running a “buy 1, get 3 Free” kind of offer on April Fool’s day!
But make no mistake, just as they stated there, while millions of people are making prank on this day, the people at WooThemes.com are not fooling anyone with this offer – they are being nice to everyone. They clearly stated it on their site, and I know it is an established site with somewhere around half a million unique visitors (on the last 30 days).
I felt like I hit jackpot, and headed on to test some other WordPress Themes live Demos so that I could narrow it down to which other 3 Themes I was finally going to decide on to get as my Free Themes.
Let me tell you, that they have some nice WordPress Themes, and I am telling you as a web developer and WordPress developer that code by hand – their Premium WordPress Themes are solid.
Aside from nice designs, WooThemes.com‘s Premium WordPress Themes are full of CMS functionalities, with tons of ready-to-go options that can be controlled from the admin panel, as well as some nice widgets and great image-resizing settings.
Anyways, I finally chose my 4 Theme “finalists”, and proceded to buy. When I added the first Theme, it took me to the screen where you would fill out your info and create an account with them, and at the bottom of the form fileds, it actually had 3 drop-down menus, where it would say “Select Free Theme #1…then #2, and #3. I could easily find each Theme I wanted from the dropdown menus, and proceeded to the next step and the checkout.
As soon as I was done paying, I received an email with an “Invoice” of what my order total was,and what I paid for (all 4 Themes I had chosen were listed there), and another email confirming my order and giving me the link and info of where to go download my Premium WordPress Themes.
I logged in, and the system was very straight forward, showing there what I had purchased so far in that account, the names of the 4 Themes I had chosen, and a link to click for immediate download.
I downloaded all of them, and tested the one I was planning on using already.
The Theme did not disappoint. These people were not kidding, yet, so many people had posted there on that same page at WooThemes, that they wanted the deal but it sounded like a “scam”. LOL, come on people! Now you are kidding me! Grab the offer and run, because it’s for real and it only lasts 2 days = which is April 1st (all day) + an extra half day that the nice people at WooThemes gave to give others a chance to have more time to find it or think about it – so I believe it is until April 2nd at Midday (12pm of tomorrow – of course, from when I am writing this post, April 1st, 2009). …Sorry if you are reading this after April 2nd 2009 12PM, but they currently should have the 2-for-1 offer, or, if you can stretch your “wallet” it a bit more, the Woo Themes Club Membership is really the best deal, because you get access to dowload all their themes for one reasonable price. Check our WooThemes.com for more details, pricing, or for signing up.
So what Themes did I get as my choices anyways? I’ll leave that in for another post (here), since I would now talking about a different subject and the nice CMS features I found in my new Theme from WooThemes.com
.
